One pound is the equivalent of 3500 calories. If you could maintain a 17 calorie per minute output (and that wouldn’t be easy) You would burn 1020 calories in an hour or 3030 calories in 3 hours which is not quite a pound.
It would probably seem like you lost more weight than that because of the sweating you would do

That’s too long. You might faint! I wouldn’t do that.

on a stepper you usually burn about 10 calories a minute.
so 100 calories in 10 min
and 600 calories in an hour
    so 1800 calories all together.
    A pound is 3500 calories.
so 18/35 of a pound which is about half a pound.
unfortunately going on the stepper for hours at a time will not help you loose as much weight as you think you might. The key way to loose weight is over time. Exercise and eat right, and in a month you can loose 2 pounds while not altering your diet too much (one less candy bar here or there, 10 more minutes on the stepper, that kind of stuff) and without much effort you can loose up to 24 pound a year, this might not seem like a lot, but in fact it is a much larger amount of weight than you might think. a pound is about one third of your fist. multiply that by 24! that a lot of mass!
