I just ordered more 1/2″ mats for other exercise equipment in a carpeted room. The mats have straight edges that line up and lay flat even under very heavy equipment.

the name doesn’t lie, it is a heavy matt. very tough and durable. i was nervous as it was bit pricey, but you get what you pay for, and this matt was worth the price.

We bought the 4×6 model. This is certainly one tough mat. Beware, it is very thick and hard to roll up. The box it came in was in very poor condition when it arrived. Torn open at both ends. However, the mat was still rolled up and taped as I’m sure it left the factory. One other minor inconvenience is that the mat arrived with a kind of smelly oil all over it. I called and was told this was how it is kept from sticking to the mold when it is made. It fairly easily cleans off and then we let it air out for two days before moving it inside. And that is another inconvenience. To clean it you must untape it. And once that tape is off it does not want to ever get wound up again. And as heavy as the mat is you can hardly lift it without it being rolled up. So after the cleaning and airing out you need to reroll it and tape it. This allows two people to hold onto the ends and move it to where you want to put it. Then once again set it free by removing the tape.
We were looking for a mat to put beneath a 250 pound elliptical. This is the perfect fit for it. And it’s working better than I could imagine. And now, as expensive as it is, the price including shipping is over $20 less than we paid one month ago! If you’re looking for a really strong mat to protect your floor or carpet from something very heavy don’t bother looking further, I think you’ll be pleased with one of these.

Because I have a small house I need to keep my weight bench and weights on the back patio under an awning. I had been looking for a mat that was not only strong enough to handle the vibrations but also one that wouldn’t deteriorate with the occasional rain. I purchased both the 2×3 and 4×6 mats and they have worked out nicely. The mat absorbs the vibrations and the small raised surface on the bottom side allows rain water to go under the mat. All in all it works pretty well.
