The elliptical is MUCH easier on your joints, promoting an acutal establishment of a life-time work-out routine (because it won’t DESTROY your knees/ankles/hips/back with impact jarring). On the other hand, the elliptical is very difficult to find for the home that feels stable. If at all possible, try it before you buy it.
Well that depends on you. If you’ve had problems with your knees from running then I’d suggest the elliptical machine. Obviously you can use you treadmill to walk which is less stressful on the knees but the elliptical usually gives you the ability to get an upper body workout while your excercising. I’d go for the elliptical,
I think it depends what’s more important to you. If your looking to burn a lot of calories and do an exercise that’s easy on your joints than elliptical’s the way to go. But if your preparing for a marathon or want to improve your run time and running endurance use a treadmill. It’s the closest thing to actually running.
