I would have to go for the elliptical. Simply because it works your entire body and that is important for firming and toning. I have used a stepper and now I have an elliptical (nord 880 autostrider) I worked hard on the stepper. When I went to the elliptical it kicked my butt in 15 minutes. I feel much better now.
