So we have all seen the “as seen on TV” exercise equipment. This is the exercise equipment you just cannot miss if you are watching TV at two in the morning. This is to say, all of these types of exercise equipment pieces have done an infomercial or two to get you to buy their product. This article goes over some of the different types of exercise equipment seen on TV and whether they are worth the infomercials that tout them.
One of the main things about “as seen in TV” exercise equipment, is that they are usually new and usually pretty innovative. Sometimes they can be too innovative but for the most part, as long as you have some space in your closet, these exercise machines typically do what they say they will do. Here are the quick low-downs on some of the more popular “as seen on TV” exercise equipment available today roughly organized by size:
– The Smaller TV Exercise Equipment:
Red Exerciser:
Consumer Report’s actually gave this exerciser a pretty good review. It certainly is innovative, and when it comes to working out the abdominal muscles for short periods of time, and apparently in a fairly easy way, this could be the way to go; especially if abs are your thing.
Air Climber:
This exerciser is an aerobic stepper that can be used to provide low-impact resistance. It is basically like a StairMaster without anything to hold onto (which could be good for the balance). The biggest complaint is that you get what you pay for. For $100 bucks it doesn’t seem to last more than a few months with intense workouts.
Bun and Thigh Rocker:
This exerciser will obviously work your buns and thighs and the reviews on this are pretty good. It is a little on the expensive side but you get what you pay for so this may be worth checking out.
Perfect Pushup:
This product is strictly for those that like doing push-ups and basically claims to help with the wrists. I have used this product and I like it. My wrists have never hurt in the slightest after use and the price is right.
– The Medium to Larger TV Exerciser Equipment:
Cableflex:
This exerciser is good for strengthening and toning and basically works like a cable system. It is very simple so it should stand the test of time and will help with muscle endurance. Don’t expect huge muscle gains however.
SoloFlex:
The Classic Soloflex is the one that comes with the bench, dip bar and push-up bar. You can perform leg extensions, leg curls, pull-up, military press, tricep-pushdowns and many others. If you are interested in an all around workout and have the space to store one of these exercisers, the SoloFlex might be the right choice for you.
Bowflex Home Gym:
This is another one of those home gym systems that attempts focuses on almost every type of workout you might want. However, some complain that the range of motion is not all that great.
Weider Crossbow:
This exerciser is an all in-one gym. Make sure you have the space and money, as it goes for about $499, however it may be the way to go if you like the Bowflex and Bandflex as this exerciser runs along the same theme. It has received good reviews.
– The TV Exercise Equipment Conclusion:
There are obviously a lot of TV exerciser equipment machines available today. The bottom line is that if you do the homework, and review as many of these products as you can, you should find your self with a great piece of home exercise equipment. Just check out the user reviews and never take the infomercials word for it. Good luck and good working out!

When it comes to fitness and exercise equipment, one of the most common questions you often hear is, “What is the best home exercise equipment?” It’s easy to understand with so many different choices being available to us. This article will help you with an overview of the more common equipment options.
Before you get started searching for home exercise equipment you may want to consider a couple of important points first.
1. What is your budget for home fitness equipment?
2. What is your current fitness level and what do you want to accomplish in the future?
Why are these questions important? Well, your budget is for obvious reasons, but enjoying the home exercise equipment is very important as well. For example, let’s say you are in good shape now and want to add additional muscle mass. You wouldn’t want an elliptical trainer for that. A Bowflex system would be a better choice.
With that in mind, let’s take a quick look at some of your options.
Treadmills
A treadmill is one of the most popular and best home exercise equipment options around. It’s ideal for cardio as well as weight loss and comes in all price ranges. You can also find some great deals on used treadmills as well. Be sure any treadmill has a wide belt, an incline setting, and a good warranty.
Elliptical Trainers
The elliptical trainer is fast approaching and in many cases, surpassing the popularity of treadmills. With their low-impact workout routines it’s easy to see why.
You control the intensity level and can easily adjust the levels of resistance. Like treadmills, elliptical trainers vary in price. Look for a good machine with a warranty.
Stationary Bike
Though this home exercise equipment option is not as popular as it once was, it is still a good choice.
You can find high end stationary bikes with built-in cooling fans as well as state of the art riding programs with video screens. It’s like you are a part of the Tour De France.
Steppers
If you want something for cardio work, a step machine may be your best home exercise equipment option. They are also great for your lower body.
Bowflex Home Gym
If building muscle mass is what you desire then you can’t go wrong with a Bowflex machine. You can several different models that all offer superior resistance training and muscle building. There are also some excellent deals to be found on used Bowflex equipment as well.
Free Weights
The oldest form of home fitness and exercise there is. Free weights are an inexpensive home fitness option that will quickly build muscle mass and get you in shape. For many people, free weights and a weight bench are the single best home exercise equipment option.
Regardless of which type of exercise equipment you choose, the key to getting any kind of results will always be in using it on a regular basis. By choosing the equipment that is in your budget and that you truly enjoy using, you will get the results you’re seeking and have some fun at the same time.

In this day and age most of us who want to get fitter, stronger, or lose weight know that in order to achieve our goals we must participate in some type of exercise program. One of the problems is that of choosing what sort of fitness equipment we should be using or buying. There are a number of choices on the market today, including elliptical trainers, rowing machines, exercise bicycles, steppers, weight machines, free weights, cable machines, and so on.
Now you have two choices when it comes to using fitness equipment. First is to purchase a piece of equipment, depending on the quality of what you want, buying can be pretty expensive. The second choice is to become a gym member. This will give you a wider of choice in the types of fitness equipment you can use, but even this option can be expensive.
Now there can be many reasons that could make it difficult for you to take advantage of either choice. Perhaps you are in a position in your life at the moment where you cannot afford to purchase any fitness equipment or afford to join a gym. You may not have any space at home to use any fitness equipment, or have the time to travel to a gym 3 or 4 times a week. You may feel uncomfortable or not have the confidence at the present time to join a gym. All these reasons will result in one thing, and that is not exercising, and not achieving the vision you may have of yourself for the future.
Now I am going to be brutally honest with you. All those reasons are just excuses not to exercise. You justify not exercising with these excuses and this makes you feel that there is some substance behind why you cannot exercise. The fact is that there is no substance behind these excuses, because when you focus on why you can’t do something your mind will come up with lots of reasons for that point of focus. However if you focus on a regular basis on why you should exercise, your mind will come up with reasons and ways for that as well. You can reach extreme levels of fitness without equipment.
The truth is that we associate great bodies with fitness equipment and we have the perception that fitness without any equipment is not something that can be achieved successfully. This is a million miles away from the truth. You don’t need any fitness equipment to become fitter, stronger, or slimmer. Your own body is one of the best pieces of fitness equipment that you have. You can reach extremely high levels of fitness using nothing but your body.
Take a look at the sport of boxing. It is only over the last few years that boxers have started using weights or weight machines to train. A few years ago 99% of their training consisted of using their own body for their training. Boxers would get up in the early hours and run the streets, not use a treadmill at lunch time. They would spend many hours a week doing push ups, sit ups, chin ups, stretching, shadow boxing, and a whole host of other body weight exercises. Boxers are warriors and they reach warrior status without any equipment. Boxers have the fittest and most durable physiques in sport.
To become a soldier is no mean feat, the training is extremely tough. The bulk of a soldiers training consists of exercising without equipment. They spend hours running over rough terrain carrying equipment and heavy backpacks. They spend months doing circuit training consisting of swimming, push ups, chin ups, sit ups, and various other exercises. Nobody can say that a soldier is not an extremely fit individual.
There is a huge choice of exercises you can use, where your body is the only piece of equipment you will need. Depending on the method of training you use, just 15 minutes a day will give you fitness levels far beyond what you have at the moment. Pick a set of exercises that hit different body parts and make a circuit out of them. Circuit training will improve your strength, fitness, and endurance. Pick your own circuit or use the one below
Free squats (30 seconds) Rest (20 seconds) Push ups (30 seconds) Rest (20seconds) Crunches (30 seconds) Rest (20 seconds) Squat thrusts (30 seconds)
This circuit last just 3 minutes and it will work your body hard. Do as many actions of each exercise in a 30 second period and do not have any more than 20 seconds rest. Try it once and see how you feel. Call this one circuit, and when your fitness improves do another circuit later in the day. There really is no limit to how far you can go on this circuit, the fitter you get the more circuits you keep adding. Just try one to begin with to get used to it and think on that one circuit is just 3 minutes out of your whole day. 3 minutes is not a lot compared to the benefits you will get from that time. Now you know that you are capable of reaching a high level of fitness without equipment.
Change your Mind Change your Body is a unique weight loss course which has helped thousands of people lose weight successfully. It’s approach is very differnt from conventional diets and offers a workable solution to permanent weight loss.Find it here at http://www.easierwayz.com

When purchasing exercise equipment there are many factors that you need to keep in mind when making your purchases. How much money do you want to spend on equipment? What kind of equipment do you need. Is there room in the space that you have for the equipment that you want? Most importantly though, you have to ask yourself what are your fitness goals.
I suggest that you start off with a few pieces of versatile equipment that have multiple uses, as well as being very affordable. I recommend you begin with a physio-ball and a variety of dumbbells. Dumbbells and a physio-ball will enable you to do numerous exercises that work a wide variety of muscle groups. In addition to their versatility, I recommend these pieces of equipment because they are available to consumers at a reasonable price. If you are looking to purchase equipment, these items are far more reasonably priced than commercial equipment machinery.
Commercial exercise machinery is often very expensive, and limits the number of exercise types and muscle groups one can exercise. Although commercial machines are durable and well built pieces of exercise equipment, they often promote poor form when exercising, and can prevent the body from aligning itself properly when exercising. In reality, you may think a commercial exercise machine is the better method for home training when in fact it could be doing you more harm than good. You also need to ask yourself, does the commercial machine cater to your own height and weight proportions? Does the machine move smoothly, without any jerking movements? Also, does the machine come with any sort of warranty from the manufacturer?
In deciding whether or not to purchase commercial or consumer exercise equipment, you need to ask yourself how committed you are to using the equipment. Are you simply making a New Years Resolution that will possibly fail after a few weeks, or are you making a lifestyle commitment to change your health, that will continue with you for the rest of your life. If you are planning on purchasing expensive equipment, you had better plan on using it for a while, and not letting it become a clothing dryer for hung items, in your spare bedroom or collecting dust in your garage while you continue to make payments on it.
In addition to exercise equipment for pumping iron, you need to consider what type of cardio equipment you need to keep around in order to take care of your body’s cardiovascular needs. Again, a commercial treadmill for example is usually the best overall for conditioning, but, you need to ask yourself how committed are you, how much are you willing to spend, and do you have the space for the equipment.
If you still have questions on what to buy for your home, get a free pass at your local gym. Go and try out their equipment. Use the treadmills, and stair-steppers and other cardio equipment. Use their weight machines to see what you like and what works for you. Collaborate with your personal trainer to determine what is the best equipment to meet your needs. Your personal trainer will not only tailor your sessions with him/her for your needs, but he/she will recommend specifically what equipment you need in between sessions with him/her in order to better reach your fitness goals. If you follow these tips, you should be able to find what you are looking for in quality exercise equipment.

Starting a fitness program with the right fitness equipment is a wise decision. This is one of the steps in attaining a lifestyle that is fit and healthy. The first thing you have to concern yourself with is the selection of the type of training you want. This basically boils down into home based training versus gym based training.
If you want to keep up with the trend, you should go with home based training. These days, more people prefer to have their very own gym as opposed to enlisting membership in commercial gyms, spas, or workout clubs. This is because home gyms provide more convenience; you can workout anytime you want and without any fee. Whatâ??s more, you can assure that with a home gym, you can use the equipment without having to wait for your turn â?? and in private. On the other hand, commercial gyms, spas, and workout clubs can be a source of social interaction. You can meet various kinds of people and perhaps create solid and lasting relationships. They are also a great option if you want to leave your home for a change of scenery and atmosphere or just to get the feel of proper training.
Whatever type of training you choose, whether home based or gym based, the type of fitness equipment you will purchase should depend on the goal of your training. This time, your choices boil down to three: bodybuilding, weight loss, and cardiovascular training. For bodybuilding, which includes muscle building, the fitness equipment you need include weight lifting equipment, free weights sets, dumbbells, crunch machines, abdominal machines, abdominal straps, abdominal boards and rockers, and different kinds of benches. You can also use lat machines, leg press machines, calf machines, chest toners, inversion tables, arm equipment, and gym racks. For weight loss, you can use fitness equipment such as waist trimmers, support belts, thermal suits, yoga mats, and other yoga products.
Building the muscles is an endeavor that must not be taken lightly. Some people use only bodybuilding equipment, but the truth is that better results await those who use cardiovascular training equipment, which both serve bodybuilding and weight loss purposes. Thus, if what you want is to build your muscles, you should buy fitness equipment that are usually used in cardiovascular training, apart from those used primarily for bodybuilding, such as treadmills, trampolines, elliptical trainers, rowing machines, exercise bikes (and teracycles, if you wish), and steppers. These pieces of equipment can be used for a wide array of cardiovascular training exercises, including walking, jogging, running, cycling, swimming, rowing, step aerobics, and a whole lot more. With cardiovascular training equipment, you can train not just your cardiovascular system but enhance the results of your bodybuilding training as well; your muscles will become more defined and noticeable.

We all tend to think that exercise equipment is hard to fit in a small space; maybe we are all looking for excuses to avoid exercising, or we all tend to think that indeed, the equipment available today is way too bulky and space consuming. If you are one of those space challenged people, you need to know that exercise equipment for small spaces does exist, in all sizes, shapes and prices. Most of us do not have the option to buy an entire gym that could take up the whole room, but we do have the chance to purchase small pieces that fit under our bed, in a closet or in any storage space.
Folding exercise equipment for small spaces is a great option; resistance bands as well. This type of equipment is ideal for small apartments because it can be packed in a bag, and it can even accompany you to your trips. You can attach them to a door, or work out while standing on them.
Free weights are also a great option; you can stick them under the bed or in an armoire and everywhere you might have some space. Weights can offer you many different options in working out, because you can combine aerobic with cardio exercises, just increasing your speed and weight routine.
Steppers are also great exercise equipment for small spaces, because they take minimum space – not more than 3sq feet actually – and can be placed anywhere when you are done using it. Stepper is great exercise, recommended by all trainers and physicians anyway. Same with lateral thigh trainer, which is both useful and very space saving option.
Keep in mind that today there are numerous options you can explore; for instance, you can always opt for a folding rowing machine that offers great exercising.

So you’ve gone through all the options and decided that a home gym is right for you. After all it’s convenient, private and can save you money by not paying for a gym membership.
You know what’s coming next. You have to plunk down 200, 500, maybe even 2,000 dollars to get the system that you want. And with all the choices out there how do you really know what you want anyway?
There are two main types of machines on the market, cardiovascular and strength training. Your body will look very different after you’ve shed the pounds depending on which exercise machine you choose.
Cardiovascular: These machines get your heart pumping quickly and increase your overall stamina. They include treadmills, ellipticals, exercise bikes, rowing exercise machines, steppers and skiers. Once you get your heart rate going on one of these machines you’ll start shedding calories fast. And most come with a calorie tracker so you can see when you’ve burned off that hamburger you felt so guilty about eating.
Cardio machines often only focus on a few muscles, meaning that your legs might get toned but you won’t get a six-pack or strengthen your arm muscles if all you do is use an elliptical. If you want a toned look all over, you’ll need to add other exercises like sit-ups and push-ups to your routine.
When shopping for a safe machine make sure it is sturdy and quiet when in use. Some cheaper brands tend to be wobbly which can be dangerous and distract you from getting the most out of your workout. An anti static floor mat may also help the stability of your machine by creating a hard surface for it to stand on. Compare prices to the quality of a brand you like. It may be worth it to get the upgrade because it will last longer.
You’ll also want the control panel to have quick response time because when you’ve reached your limit on a treadmill you need to stop immediately. Some machines keep going until a few seconds after you press the button.
To avoid having problems order from an online retailer that has a good return policy. Check to see how thick the base legs are. This is something you can find easily on Pro Form treadmills or NordicTrack Ellipticals.
Strength Training: This is what you want if you’re looking for the big bulk. Pumping weights is the fastest way to get larger muscles without using harmful drugs. You can also tone your muscles with strength training by lifting smaller amounts.
If you plan to work out alone you’ll need to find a machine that has a built in spotter or uses resistance in place of weights. If not you may find yourself at a stalemate with the 100 pounds above your head. Talk about an awkward situation!
Just like cardiovascular workouts, you won’t get big arm muscles if all you buy is an AB CoreMaster. So make sure you know what muscles a particular machine targets before buying. You may find that it’s worth it to spend a little extra money to get an all-in-one gym that targets most major muscle groups than a machine that focuses on just a few.
And don’t be surprised if you don’t lose any weight after strength training for a long period of time. Since muscle weighs more than fat you may even find that you’ve gained a few pounds.
Take the time to analyze your goals. What areas of your body are you concerned about and how do you envision yourself looking at its best? You may decide that what you need is a combination of cardiovascular exercise from a machine like the Pro Form treadmill and strength training from a set of weights. There are a few machines on the market, like the Cardio Cruiser by Jake that do both in one. But no matter what you decide you’ll be happier with your purchase and the results you get if you base it on your goals.
