When purchasing exercise equipment there are many factors that you need to keep in mind when making your purchases. How much money do you want to spend on equipment? What kind of equipment do you need. Is there room in the space that you have for the equipment that you want? Most importantly though, you have to ask yourself what are your fitness goals.


I suggest that you start off with a few pieces of versatile equipment that have multiple uses, as well as being very affordable. I recommend you begin with a physio-ball and a variety of dumbbells. If you are planning on purchasing expensive equipment, you had better plan on using it for a while, and not letting it become a clothing dryer for hung items, in your spare bedroom or collecting dust in your garage while you continue to make payments on it.


In addition to exercise equipment for pumping iron, you need to consider what type of cardio equipment you need to keep around in order to take care of your body’s cardiovascular needs. Again, a commercial treadmill for example is usually the best overall for conditioning, but, you need to ask yourself how committed are you, how much are you willing to spend, and do you have the space for the equipment.


If you still have questions on what to buy for your home, get a free pass at your local gym. Go and try out their equipment. Use the treadmills, and stair-steppers and other cardio equipment. Use their weight machines to see what you like and what works for you. Collaborate with your personal trainer to determine what is the best equipment to meet your needs. Your personal trainer will not only tailor your sessions with him/her for your needs, but he/she will recommend specifically what equipment you need in between sessions with him/her in order to better reach your fitness goals. If you follow these tips, you should be able to find what you are looking for in quality exercise equipment.

Walking For Exercise Can Be Your Way To Fitness.

Is that gym membership already terminated after only two visits during the whole year? Are you using that stepper as a coat rack and is your treadmill growing moss in a moist spot of your basement? And what about the AB lounge, is it still lounging comfortably along with the “Do not Disturb” sign hanging on your thigh master? Wait! Before you give up on working out, let’s consider walking for exercise.

For those interested, going out for a pleasant, brisk walk is one of the simplest ways to work in a work out just about any time of the day. In fact a majority of people opt walking for exercise as it is a natural activity that is relatively easy to do.

Though you may find the first few times a little painful, for sure you will find yourself whipping back into shape in no time at all. Walking is also a great way to get some time alone. Despite the fact that all the workout equipment in my basement yields some fabulous results, yet I simply don’t feel the same as I do after taking a brisk walk outside. It definitely feels good gazing at trees and flowers rather than my basement wall. Walking for exercise gives me a chance to get in touch with nature and in touch with my own thoughts as well.

Ironically, some of my friends have taken on the routine of going on brisk walks with me. In fact they opt walking for exercise because I often talked about the benefits of the activity. Now I frequently find myself surrounded by others while I am completing my workout routine. Although this is “me time” I don’t mind the company. Miles go by in a flash especially when I have someone to talk to during the journey.

It’s simple, there is nothing to buy (aside from a good pair of walking shoes) and the workout can be done almost anyplace. Save the gym membership and the workout machines for the winter.

Walking for exercise is the major choice during the spring and summer months. At times you may find that you are so gripped to the activity that you will continue to walk during the wintry weather! As for me, I simply undress my stepper and dust off the treadmill during the winter months. Nevertheless, I paid a handsome sum for those items. Walking for exercise is still good even on a treadmill.

For one thing, the home exercise equipment is going to be equipment that you actually use.  If you’re very out of shape and are just starting out, an advanced stepper may be more advanced than you’re ready to handle.  A treadmill might be easier; then again, if you have problems with your knees and ankles (as many overweight people do) then an elliptical machine may be better since it has no impact.  A good salesperson can help you decide if one of these is the best home exercise equipment for you and you should be able to try out these larger pieces in the store before you actually purchase something.

If you hate walking but love biking, a stationary bike is going to be better than a treadmill.  If the workout station isn’t going to fit in your home and you need to move some things around just to get to it, then it might not be the exercise equipment for you.  Free weights and a bench take up much less space than an entire system and of course they can be just as effective if used properly.  The best advice anyone can give you when considering the best home exercise equipment for you is to take your time, shop around, and be realistic and practical about what will fit in your home and what you’ll use regularly.

My Exercise Machine Broke What Else Can I Do To Lose Weight?

I had a stepper and lost 31 LBS on it so far, but today it broke and i’m really stressed out. I don’t think any exercise in the world can help me lose weight. I’ve been fat for 9 years since i was 17, i’m 200 and something pounds, and this is the first time i’ve ever lost this much weight. I stuck to it after time and time again of giving up. Now i’m helpless, worried, sad and depressed. Please help.

How Much Calories Is Ideal To Lose Whenever I Exercise?

hi i started to exercise yesterday to shed off some excess pounds. i got a side-stepper machine (if you know that) and it said i burned 180 calories. i also jog every morning for less than an hour. is that enough for me to lose weight? how long before i see results?
i also watch my diet carefully, though i can’t really count my calorie intake.
any suggestions? thanks.
